Have you ever met somebody who was so resourceful and capable that they started a car with a cactus? Well, Matt and Susan have never done that, but they do other awe-inspiring things like restoring a historic barn or fixing the joystick on a tractor that is no longer supported or manufactured.

This is a story about The Hobbs, Matt and Susan, to be specific. The Hobbs have the patience, and ability to work through a problem, keep iterating and somehow make it to the other side. These are hopes and dreams come true, folks.

We serendipitously met Matt at a local gardening event, huddled under a shelter that was unsheltered from the elements, light rain with lots of wind. During introductions, Matt mentioned that he is always looking for help around the property and Jesse answer the call. A kinship was formed.

Since then, we’ve shared many meals and conversations. This blog is a way for us to remember all of those stories shared along the way.
